Jordan 1 Retro High x Spider-Man

In recognition of the subject matter of the film this Jordan 1 Retro High x Spider-Man sneaker was inspired by, it has been nicknamed Origin Story. Based on the iconic Chicago colourway, its colour scheme brings together bright red and white tones with rich black accents and blue highlights that reference the outfit worn by the fan-favourite superhero. The first of these appears on the rubber outsole, whose translucent surface is infused with a pale blue tint. Circular contours emanate underneath the forefoot and blocky lugs loop beneath the heel to provide the wearer with high-quality grip, before the foam-filled white midsole adds bouncy comfort. A line of white thread travels the whole circumference of the midsole’s upper edge, creating a subtle border between the durable cupsole and the top part of the shoe.

Smooth white leather underlays the upper, forming the midfoot panels, which cover the flanks and thin towards the heel, and the toe box, which features a fan of perforations for cool aeration. Placed over this layer are several Gym Red panels marked with distinctive spots that have a reflective complexion. These sections shape the forefoot mudguard and the two overlays that reach up from the midsole just behind it, as well as the eyestay, the collar overlay and the heel counter. The high-cut collar is black, thus delivering a strong tonal contrast with the red panel that envelops it. A similarly captivating effect is achieved by the set of black Air Jordan Wings pressed into the collar’s lateral side.

Further contrastive elements define the top of the shoe, firstly through the black laces that tie up over a white tongue. The latter feature’s peak hosts a woven patch in a bright Photo Blue hue with Gym Red Nike branding and a swoosh sewn into it for another powerful variation in tone. Inside the shoe, below the black inner lining, the insole repeats this colourful layout, as its Photo Blue exterior has been printed with Gym Red Nike text. Back on the heel, a small piece of Gym Red leather with two lines of white stitching traversing over it acts as the centrepoint for the shoe’s swooshes to emerge from. These black leather logos reach outwards from the diminutive red square before powering down the white flanks to conclude this stylish Air Jordan 1.
