Nike Air Force 1 '07 SE

This commemorative pair of Nike Air Force 1 ‘07 SE sneakers was made in honour of the 40th anniversary of the famous silhouette. The resulting design is full of eye-catching details placed across an elegant off-white background. This is created by the use of Sail on the intricately sewn overlays through the heel and forefoot, as well as the eyestay, midfoot panels and toe box. These sections are all made of premium tumbled leather, while the Malachite swooshes and heel panel feature a smoother finish.

As well as the delicately stitched lines bordering each panel, charming embroidered elements are dotted across the design. Capitalised Nike Air text has been sewn into the heel tab in bold white, and a small Malachite swoosh highlights the lateral forefoot, sitting just below the end of the eyestay. Along with this, a sewn patch adorns the peak of the Sail tongue. Within its centre, in the potent tone of Malachite, is a custom emblem with the number “1” inside a circle overlaid with a swoosh. Beneath this, if you look closer, it’s possible to perceive the more traditional Nike Air text in white. Then, on the underside of the tongue patch is an even more unique detail – the signature of original AF1 designer Bruce Kilgore in Malachite.

Meanwhile, on the shoe’s insole, further Malachite branding appears, with Nike Air lettering on the left foot and “82 22” with a swoosh in between on the right to signify the year that the first AF1 was launched, as well as the year of this shoe’s release. Back on the outer, the lateral heel has been lightly embossed with the number “40”, which is flanked by a pair of stars on either side. Underfoot, things turn to pure white as the sole unit comes almost entirely in this bright tone. Malachite pops up again, both on the outsole, where it covers the centre point of the row of circular grip lines in the forefoot and heel, and the midsole, where it coats the Air lettering and embossed line on the lateral side.

Ornate Metallic Gold elements bring a final exquisite touch to this design, further celebrating the longevity of the AF1. The first of these is on the uppermost eyelets, which are formed of golden metal rings etched with the words “Air Force 1” beside the dates “1982” and “2022” either side of a swoosh. The concluding piece is a Metallic Gold lace dubrae with an oval centre engraved with a fine outline around the text “AF-1 ‘82”.
