Nike Dunk Low

Warm tones combine with soft materials across this Nike Dunk Low, evoking the look of the sneaker’s namesake, the Red Panda. Like the Asian mammal, the shoe has a dark underside, appearing here in the form of a Velvet Brown sole unit. This consists of a foam-cushioned midsole and an outsole with a variety of grippy structures, including concentric circular ridges below the forefoot and lugs under the heel.

While this makes for a foundation that is both stable and comfortable, the upper brings a stylish aesthetic to the design, firstly through its use of furry Velvet Brown suede. This acts as the base layer, shaping the perforated toe box, the midfoot panels and a section that begins above the tip of the eyestay before sloping down around the collar and the heel. The rear overlay encircles the back of the foot below it, its surface made from smooth suede in a rich, coppery hue known as Rugged Orange, thus emulating the fur of the Red Panda. The same tone covers the heel panel above it, and Nike text has been embroidered into its exterior in a brighter orange. This colour arrangement can also be found on the tongue label, which has light orange Nike branding atop its Rugged Orange background.

The tongue itself is a mix of brown and off-white tones, while the laces that secure the shoe are Velvet Brown. This last tone extends down inside the shoe as well, coating everything except for the Nike lettering and the swoosh beside it, both of which feature more deep ruddy hues. Back on the outer, one final colour has been added to the sneaker. Named Sand Drift, it fills out the leather overlays which form the forefoot mudguard, the eyestay and, lastly, the sidewall swooshes gliding gracefully down the flanks.
