Nike Dunk Low Disrupt
"Panda"
CK6654-102
The black and white colour scheme of this Nike Dunk Low Disrupt has been put together with a deconstructed layout for a new take on the classic Panda look. The outsole starts things off in black, its tread patterns reworked into alternating bands of concentric rings and straight lines as it moves backwards from the toe, before a circular section below the heel finishes off the feature with Nike branding in its centre. Above this, the bulky Summit White midsole has been raised a little, and its top edge cuts a jagged geometric outline where it meets the upper.
A tight Summit White mesh material provides a soft foundation for the upper, where it shows up through the toe box, the midfoot panels and the collar. This last piece encircles the top of the heel as well, though here it is largely obscured by the addition of a broad pull tab made of black leather. This high-quality fabric goes on to form the forefoot mudguard, which has faint dimples in its sides, the eyestay, which floats above the upper, and the rear overlay, whose top part is also floating. Fine lines of stitching connect these overlays artfully together, and the rear panel lies over the black swooshes rather than the other way around. These black leather logos emerge from beneath the pull tab at the centre of the heel to reach all the way to the mudguard at the front of the foot, slightly overlapping with it and forging a bold aesthetic along the flanks.
A string of perforations marks the front edge of the toe box, bringing breathability to the forefoot, and the black tongue behind it is made of the same mesh as the white part of the upper. At its peak is a piece of exposed foam, over which loops a black patch with grey Nike branding. Soft black fabric appears on the topline and stretches down inside the shoe until it meets the insole, which is an off-white tone. Upon its supportive surface is one last set of Nike text and a swoosh in black, thus rounding out this stylish sneaker.
