Jordan 11 Retro ‘Heiress’

The rich tones on this Jordan 11 Retro Heiress combine with its luxurious materials to create a sneaker that is both classy and refined. Night Maroon is the main colour to be found on this design, beginning with the partially see-through outsole, which carries just a hint of this tone. Behind it, the darker carbon fibre plate can be seen, its lightly patterned surface emerging from beneath the outsole on the medial side. A Jumpman silhouette has been subtly etched into the centre of the shank, and opaque pods in the heel and toe deliver high levels of traction via herringbone grip lines. Meanwhile, the midsole features a refreshing white that contrasts beautifully with the deep shades of maroon found above and below it. Though its outer portion is made from soft, spongy Phylon foam, inside, it conceals full-length Air cushioning within, giving the wearer maximum comfort.

On the upper, the patent leather mudguard has been swapped out for one made of sumptuous velvet in an even darker maroon hue, earning the sneaker its nickname: Velvet. This glamorous look continues on the rest of the upper, which is made from Night Maroon nubuck. The same fine material covers the heel panel and tongue, while bands of Night Maroon fabric span the distance between the edge of the tongue and the seams at the bottom of the upper. At the tongue end, they form looped eyelets to accommodate the Night Maroon laces, which tie up over a similarly coloured tongue.

Inside, the padded lining and insole are both Night Maroon, and the latter feature contains a unique branding effect that really sets this sneaker apart. Below the Metallic Gold Jumpman printed onto its surface is the word “Jordan” in a stylish, calligraphic font, and under this, the text “Fine footwear since 1985” appears. This intricate lettering is joined by several more pieces of Metallic Gold branding in a continuation of the shoe’s regal aesthetic. Firstly, there are the words “Jumpman” and “Jordan” on a band of Night Maroon material stretching across the centre of the tongue, with another Jumpman logo sitting between them. Next, there is Jordan’s jersey number of 23 stamped onto the heel tab. Lastly, a moulded Metallic Gold Jumpman rises out of the lateral side of the heel, thus rounding out this magnificent Air Jordan 11 with a final elegant touch.
