This two-tone Jordan 1 Mid exudes class and style with its clean outer, which flips the usual tonal arrangement of an early Air Jordan colourway, bringing it the nickname Reverse Chicago. One of the colours to be found on the sneaker is a rich shade of red known as Pomegranate, which shows up across the entire rubber surface of the outsole. Various tread formations mark its surface, with star shapes embossed around the toe, concentric circles below the forefoot, lugs on the heel and an indented hexagon adorned with Nike branding in its centre. A pleasing contrast has been created immediately above this grippy feature as the textured surface of the midsole is completely white, its interior containing a springy blend of foam and Air cushioning for maximum comfort underfoot.

The premium leather of the upper, meanwhile, brings together the same elegant colours, with white acting as the primary hue. It fills out the various forefoot overlays, the midfoot panels, the heel counter, the eyestay and the collar wrap, each panel held down with intricately woven lines of stitching for a finely crafted aesthetic. Flashes of Pomegranate then highlight the toe box, with its fan of breathable perforations, and the collar, before continuing inside the shoe. Here, this striking red hue coats the soft inner lining, the back of the tongue and the insole. The last of these features has a white Jumpman printed onto it, and the rim of the tongue is also white where the textile of its frontside has been looped over its peak.

Back on the outer, this captivating presentation returns on the various branding effects, which put the two light tones next to each other so that both remain powerfully distinct. The first appears on the lateral collar wrap, whose white surface is decorated with a pair of Pomegranate Air Jordan Wings, while the second begins from a small rectangle of white leather in the centre of the heel. Emerging from either side of it are two Pomegranate swooshes, the unforgettable Nike logos swooping down each flank to rest vividly over the midfoot. The third and final effect appears at the top of the tongue in the form of a Pomegranate label with a Jumpman logo and the word “Air” woven through it in white, creating another juxtaposition of colour that perfectly concludes this memorable sneaker.
